Mary Jo Sand

Mary Jo Sand, 71, passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2014, following an extended illness. She was born in Massillon on January 30, 1943 to the late Lewis & Eleanor Piper. Mary Jo was a graduate of Washington High School, Class of 1961 and was a member of St. Barbara Catholic Church. She was the co-owner of the West End Carry-Out until her retirement on March 17, 2012. She is survived by her husband Robert E. Sand, whom she married on August 31, 1963; their children Janine M. (Tim) Hoskinson of Massillon, Julie A. (Scott) Carroll of Strasburg and Michael R. Sand of Massillon; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother James Piper of Brewster. She was preceded in death by her brother John Piper. Family and friends may call at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Sunday, March 30, 2014 from 5:00PM-8:00PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, March 31, 2014 at 1; 30PM, Fr. Brian Cline, officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Hills Burial Park.
