Mary Jane Harmon

Mary Jane Harmon, age 96 of Massillon, passed away on Sunday, July 4, 2010 at the Laurels of Massillon. She was born on June 17, 1914 in New Philadelphia, Ohio and was the daughter of the late Melvin and Lillian (Perry) Haakinson. She was an area resident since 1946. She had been employed with the Republic Steel Credit Union. She enjoyed playing cards and bingo and doing counted cross stitch. She was a member of Reedurban Presbyterian Church. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Linus Harmon on November 6, 1986, her brother William Haakinson and her sister Virginia Bair. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Tom Hoffner of Massillon. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon with Dr. Darrell Holmes officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service from 10:00 A.M. – 11:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make a memorial contribution in her name to Reedurban Presbyterian Church Organ Fund or the Laurels of Massillon Activities Department.
