Mary Ellen Mercer

Mary Ellen Mercer, nee Krantz, 99, of Richville, passed away on June 4, 2024, surrounded by her family.

She was born on September 26, 1924 to the late Victor and Mary (Ott) Krantz in Richville, OH.

She was a graduate of Washington High School. Mary worked at Richville Elementary School, where she enjoyed spending time with the children and at A-1 Bookstore. She was a lifelong resident of Richville and a Richville Historian. She was a member of the Perry History Club and a lifelong member of Holy Family Parish, Navarre, where she was a member of Altar Rosary Society. Mary enjoyed reading, gardening and Cleveland sports. She was dedicated to her children, grandchildren and community.

Mary will be greatly missed by her loving daughters and husbands, Sue Johnston, Ruth and John Braid, and Jeanne Mercer and James Domer; grandchildren, Tim (Lori) Stillion, Tami (Dustin) Fick, Ashley Braid, Trevor (Missy) Stillion, and Ryan (Jenna Whitney) Braid; great-grandchildren, Troy, Sam, Cody, Jonah, Lily and Casey; and numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Mercer; and brother, Edward Krantz.

Visitation will be held Sunday, June 9, 2024, 2:00 pm -4:00 pm at Paquelet Funeral Home, Massillon.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 10, 2024, 11:00 am at the Holy Family Parish, Navarre. Burial will follow in Richville Cemetery
