Mary Ellen Boyd

Mary Ellen Boyd age 88 of Massillon departed this life on August 21, 2007. Mary was a very devout women first and foremost to God and then to her family. Mary was born August 30, 1918 in Massillon to the late Arthur & Luella (Harris) Polk. She was a 1934 graduate of Washington High School. She was a cook at Parkview Manor and Bill’s Diner. Besides her parents her husband Willie Boyd, four sister, three brothers, a son in law and great grandson all preceded her in death. She leaves to keep her memory a daughter, Dolores J. Miller; a daughter and son-in-law in Christ, Joyce & Bob Craig; nine grandchildren; Daisy (Clay) Brown-Mann, Christopher (Nicole) Miller, Mary J. Miller, Melvin (Jackie) Miller, Michael (Yvette) Ferguson, Kalia Hastings, Jacqueline Kirkland, Cecil Kirkland & Eric Spicer. 20 great grandchildren and a special niece Caroline White; two granddaughters in Christ, Theresa Tennille and Ellen Rothacter and a host of other family and friends. A Homegoing celebration will be 1 PM Monday at Shiloh Baptist Church, her pastor Rev. Anthony Robinson will officiate. Burial will be at Massillon Cemetery.
