Mary E. Theken

Mary E. "Betsy" Theken, age 74 of Massillon, died on Sunday morning, October 28th at Rose Lane Health Care Center. She was born on November 5, 1937 in North Canton, Ohio and was the daughter of the late John and Elva (Slusser) Kitzmiller. Following her graduation from high school, Betsy enrolled at the Aultman Hospital School of Nursing where she became a registered nurse. She retired from Aultman Hospital after 38 years of service. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading and spending time at their summer cottage at Leesville Lake. Betsy is survived by her husband, Ronald Theken, whom she married on October 17, 1964, her sisters, Carol Menon and Phyllis Grim, her brother John Kitzmiller, Jr. and his wife Joyce, 4 nephews, 4 nieces and their families. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday at 11:00 AM at the Paquelet Funeral Home with Pastor Patty Silva officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6-8 PM. Memorial contributions are suggested to Wayne County Hospice, 2525 Back Orrville Road Wooster, OH 44691.
