Mary C. Blackburn, 69, of Canton, passed away on January 22, 2019 at Mercy Medical Center. She was born on October 21, 1949 in Canton to the late Robert W. and Mary (Hathaway) Baxter, Sr. She married Paul Blackburn on April 29, 1983 and they shared 35 loving years together. Mary was a member of First Assembly of God and a former member of Grace Community Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed doing crafts and participating in Bible Study Fellowship. One of her favorite past times was Sundays spent with her husband Paul in which they would attend church, have lunch and go for their Sunday drive. Mary will be remembered for her generosity, as she gave the gift of life by being an organ donor. She will be deeply missed by her husband Paul; brothers Dr. Robert Baxter and Paul (Constance) Baxter; sister-in-law Janice (Steve) St. Louis; brother-in-law Kenneth Blackburn; nieces, nephews and numerous cousins. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her son Philip McCauley and sister-in-law Kathy Baxter. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 28, 2019 from 6-8 p.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. Calling hours will also be held on Tuesday at First Assembly of God, 325 Lake Ave. NE, Massillon, from 11 a.m. - 1p.m. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. at the church followed by the graveside committal with Pastor Mike Braggs and Pastor Jeremy McGraw officiating.
