Marty (Mitchell) Koehnlein, age 71 of Massillon passed away Sunday, March 6, 2011 at her residence. She had been under a doctor’s care. Marty was born April 16, 1939 in Canton to the late S. Clement & Mary Kathryn (Willis) Mitchell and was a 1957 graduate of Lehman High School. She attended Miami University and Kent State University. Marty was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Canton, Daughters of the American Revolution, Massillon Women’s Club, Massillon Museum, and the Lehman High School Alumni Association. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and homemaker. Her family was most near and dear to her. Marty was well versed in politics and loved to discuss current events. She approached life with an abundance of spirit and an amazing sense of humor. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Marilyn Mitchell and brother, Jack Mitchell. Marty is survived by her husband, Donald P. Koehnlein with whom she shared 46 years of marriage on September 26th ; two daughters and sons-in-law, Katy & Matt Danner of Canton and Sue & Eric Staub of Westport, CT; two grandsons, John and Matt; brother and sister-in-law, David & Doris Mitchell of North Canton. Funeral Services will be Friday, March 11th at 10:30 AM at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon with the Rev. Lynn Shetzer officiating. Her final resting place will be North Lawn Cemetery in North Canton. Friends may call from 6-8 PM Thursday, March 10th at the funeral home.
