Martin "Marty" Krist Gugov

Martin "Marty" K. Gugov, age 71, passed away on August 18, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 22, 1943 in Massillon to the late Krist and Anna (Pustoy) Gugov. He married Connie Clapper on October 12, 1963 and they shared 52 wonderful years together. Marty was a member of the 1959 and 1960 Massillon Tigers State Championship Football Teams and graduated from Washington High School in 1961. He attended Ohio State and played for Woody Hayes. Marty was an Analyst for the Timken Company retiring after 37 years of service. Marty was an OHSAA high school basketball official for over 30 years, and a lifelong Massillon Tigers Fan. He loved to travel, golf with friends and was devoted to watching his grandchildren's events. Marty leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Connie; his daughters Sue (Greg Furden) Welton, Karen (Dusty) Deitrick and Angie (Mitch) Krichbaum; his grandchildren Lauren, Kylie and Delaney Deitrick , Nathan Welton; his step grandsons Aaron, Sam and Ben Krichbaum; his brother Krist (Peggy) Gugov; his sisters Kris "Bertha" Chapman and Nona (Jay) Swartz as well as a host of nieces, nephews and life-long friends. A Celebration of Marty's life will be held at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Sunday, August 23, 2015 at 2P.M. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Saturday, August 22, 2015 from 5 to 8pm and 1 hour prior to the Sunday service.
