Martha M. Aowad

Martha M. Aowad, 83, of Massillon passed away early Thursday morning, July 9, 2009, at Affinity Medical Center. She was born February 21, 1926 in Massillon to the late Samuel and Nora (Arbaji) Davis. Martha was a member of AARP, and a devout member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, attending church almost every day. She enjoyed reading religious books, and cooking Lebanese dishes for her family. What Martha loved most was spending time with her family, especially her children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter. She was loved by everyone, and made everyone feel at home. Martha married Francis Aowad on May 4, 1949 and they just celebrated 60 years of marriage. Along with Francis she is survived by her children, Theresa (Jerry) Mills, and Christine (Darrel) Sutton both of Massillon, Joseph (Constance) Aowad of Canton, Margaret (Donald) Wilson of Hartville; sisters Louise (Jim) Arner, and Rita Frohman both of Massillon; grandchildren Yvonne, Stephanie, Kimberly, Brian, Yvette, Andrea, Ryan, Rebecca, Mikayla, Jennifer, and Matthew; great-granddaughter Alexis. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by brothers, Albert, Joseph, and Robert Davis, and a sister Eva Christie. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2-5 P.M. at Paquelet Funeral Home 1100 Wales Rd. NE., Massillon, OH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10:00 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Raymond Paul officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Parish Cemetery.
