Martha E. Daugherty Jones

Martha E. Daugherty Jones, age 76 of Massillon, passed away on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Aultman Hospital with her family at her side. She was born on April 30, 1941 in Russellville, WV and was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Bernice (Sampson) Martin. She was a member of the Massillon Baptist Temple and served as the church’s secretary under Dr. Bruce D. Cummons for many years. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John “Tom” Daugherty in 2009 and her daughter Linda Staggs. Martha is survived by her second husband, Gary N. Jones, her children, Janet (Don) Teubert, John Daughterty and Steve (Rachel) Daugherty, her grandchildren, Aleah (Kent), Seth (Danielle) Lee (Morgan), Logan, Grace and Elle, her great grandchildren, Payton, Emmersyn, Grant and Lena. She is also survived by her stepchildren, Gail (Robert) Blake, Sandra Shaffer, Brian (Nicole) Jones and Andrew (Denise) Jones and her siblings, Patricia (Jim) Malatesta, Connie Holland, Wilma (Charlie) Kesmodel, Diana Ollis, James (Marsha) Martin and Russell Martin. The funeral will take place at the Massillon Baptist Temple on Friday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Dan Sunde officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. and on Friday at the church from 10-11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Massillon Baptist Temple, 1219 Overlook SW, Massillon, OH 44647.
