Martha A. Howell

Martha A. (Laubacher) Howell, age 89 of Massillon, passed away Saturday, February 6, 2010. Martha was born October 24, 1920 in Canton to the late George & Anne (McGough) Laubacher. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Paul V. Howell (1973); brother, George (Beverly) Laubacher; sisters, Betty (Richard) Loew, Joan (Richard) Schwertner, Mary (George) DeBacker, and sister-in-law, Elizabeth (George) Hilliard. She will be deeply missed by 23 nieces and nephews, many great nieces and nephews, and others to whom she was “Aunt Martha”. Martha was a graduate of St. John High School in Canton, Mercy Hospital School of Nursing and Catholic University of America. A member of St. Barbara Catholic Church and Columbian Ladies Guild. Past member of Massillon City Council, the Council of Catholic Women and board of MRDD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Thursday at St. Barbara’s Catholic Church, her pastor Fr. Thomas Cebula will officiate. Burial will be beside her husband at St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Paquelet Funeral Home.
