Marjorie 'Jeanne' Mcafee

March 21, 1923 — September 9, 2007

Marjorie “Jeanne” McAfee, passed away peacefully in her sleep September 8, 2007. Jeanne was our Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt, Sister, and friend. Jeanne was born in Claysville, PA to the late, Charles and Marie (Cushing) Carter, and siblings Charles, Paul, Julia, and Joanne. She is survived by her children Jerry, Linda, Dave and Dennis, 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren including SkyLee, who came into this world the same morning that Jeanne left. Jeanne is also survived by her sisters Esther and Mary Jane, and numerous nieces and nephews. A consummate storyteller, she was proud of her family and Massillon, Ohio. She was a writer of poetry and short stories, and a natural artist who easily created graceful sketches and humorous caricatures. Jeanne loved attending W.H.S. class of ‘41 reunions. She was passionate about her likes and dislikes. She was a giver of advice and receiver of none. Jeanne will be remembered by all who loved her as a feisty, politically passionate, outspoken, and literate person. Jeanne was a proud woman, who never wanted a funeral service or sad remembrance ceremony of any kind. Because of her love for music and dance, and her pride in the Tiger Swing Band, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, all donations be made to the Massillon Tiger Swing Band Booster Club. Thanks Mother, for giving us life. Rest in peace, and be pain free at last. We all loved you dearly.
