Marjorie A. Martin, age 86 of Massillon, passed away Monday, February 22nd at the Laurels of Massillon. Margie was born June 4, 1923 in Canton to the late Jess & Helen (Sheridan) Rogers and lived most of her life in Massillon. She was a 1941 graduate of Washington High School. Margie was an active member of First Christian Church, The Eastern Star and a long time volunteer for both the Massillon City Hospital and the soup kitchen at St. Joseph. Being a grandma and great grandma was a real treat for her. She sent many cards to family and friends to remember them on special days. In addition to her parents, her husband Leon passed away in 1998 and two sisters, Betty Renner and Alice Rogers. She will be dearly missed by her two daughters and sons-in-law; Linda & Gary Blackmer, Frances & Charles Meredith all of Massillon; five grandchildren, Christopher Blackmer, Michael Blackmer, Ben Meredith, Aimee Rudy, and Nicole Meredith; great grandchildren, Jacie, Brooke, Mikenna, Kamden, Nicholas, Megan, Joey Elizabeth and Jaxson; sister and brother, Ruth Chapman and Alan & June Rogers all of Massillon. Funeral service will be 10 AM Friday at the First Christian Church in Massillon, her pastor Rev. Tim Brown will officiate. She will be buried beside her husband at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Friends may call Thursday from 6-8 PM at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon and from 9 AM until the service at the church on Friday.
