Marilyn L. Swad, 71, of Massillon, passed away on Monday, October 4, 2021. Marilyn was born on April 25, 1950, in Massillon, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Lois (Ober) Flanagan. She was a lifelong resident of the area and a 1968 graduate of Tuslaw High School where she was the Home Coming Queen. Marilyn had been a hairdresser and marketing director for numerous companies. She loved spending time with her family and would do anything she could to help them. She also attended Trinity Gospel Temple. She is survived by her children, Stacy Strine and Todd (Paula) Perkins; grandchildren, Derrick Conley II, and Sydney and Emilie Perkins; great-grandson, Derrick Conley, III; brother, David (Michelle) Flanagan; sister, Patricia (James) Porter; and numerous loved ones that called her grandma. A Celebration of Marilyn’s life will be held on Monday, October 11, 2021, at 11 a.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Brookfield Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and on Monday from 10-11 a.m. Messages of comfort and support may be sent to the family at www.paquelet.com.
