Marilyn J. Kellman

October 3, 1936 — January 4, 2022

Marilyn J. Kellman, 85, of Navarre, Ohio passed away unexpectedly on January 4, 2022 in Charlotte, North Carolina. She was born in Massillon, Ohio on October 3, 1936 to the late William and Hazel (Woods) Kurtz and graduated from Navarre High School and Ohio University. Marilyn attended summer school in Boulder, Colorado where she met her beloved husband, Robert “Bob” Kellman whom she married in 1958. A member of Beta Sigma Phi and the Massillon Women’s Club, Marilyn enjoyed a teaching career in public schools. She began teaching in Colorado and retired from Tuslaw School District in 1997 after 29 years of teaching. Marilyn volunteered at the Spring Hill Historic Home and the Stark County Board of Elections. Traveling domestically and Internationally was a great passion of Marilyn’s. She wanted to see it all and always seemed to have a suitcase packed for the next adventure. She especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Annual family vacations at Edisto Island, SC were a cherished summer occasion. Marilyn loved playing cards with her many friends and never turned down an opportunity to be a substitute for an additional game. She is survived by her children Mark (Amy) Kellman, Michelle (Mike) Sherrill and Robyn Lowe; grandchildren Adam Kroupa, Andrew Kellman, Jarrod Clauser, Shelly Clauser, Jacquelyn Lowe, Harrison Lowe, Landon Lowe and step-grandchildren Justin Lowe, Taylor Sherrill and Mason Sherrill. In addition to her parents, Marilyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert Kellman and sister Lydia Hug. The family will receive friends and family on Friday, January 21, 2022 from 3-6 p.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. A funeral service will begin at 6 p.m. The service will also be livestreamed for those that cannot attend. Click Here Private burial will take place Monday, January 24, 2022 at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, Ohio.
