Marilyn J. Hocevar

November 24, 1930 — March 30, 2014

Marilyn J Hocevar, age 83 of Louisville passed away Sunday. Marilyn was born November 24, 1930 in Wooster to the late Boyd & Marie (Rouch) Shamp. In 1948, Marilyn graduated from Washington High School. She was an active member of St. Joseph Parish, sang in the choir and a member of the Christian-Mothers. Bill & Marilyn moved from Massillon to Louisville in 2004 to be near their daughter and family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son Gary in 1979, and a brother Duane Shamp. Marilyn is survived by her husband, William Hocevar with whom she shared 62 years of marriage. They have a daughter Pamela (Joseph) Palosi of Louisville. There are two grandchildren: Kristyn Palosi and Michael (Amanda) Palosi and they have two children; Alyssa and Austin. In addition she has a sister, Cheryl (Gary) Oakleaf. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM Thursday at St. Joseph Church with interment at the church cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 6-8 PM at the Paquelet Funeral Home, Massillon.
