Marilyn J. Hammel, 92, a lifelong resident of Massillon, passed away on July 7, 2021 at Danbury where she resided since 2017. She was born on September 23, 1928 to the late Howard and Loretta (Knobb) Millar. Marilyn was a 1947 graduate of Washington High School and worked as an office manager for many years for Dr. A.L. DeSanctis. In her spare time, she enjoyed tending to her flower garden, ceramic painting and crafting. Marilyn was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Karen and William Paul of Wooster; grandchildren Stephanie Paul of Boca Raton, FL., Steven Paul of Smithville, and Scott (Stacey) Paul of Plain City; great-grandchildren Gavin and Austin; daughter-in-law Johnna Hammel; and many nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents, Marilyn was preceded in death by her loving husband James Hammel, her son Kenneth Hammel, brothers Ronald Millar and Robert Millar and her companion Joseph Vaccaro. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 12th at 11:00 a.m. with calling hours beginning at 10, at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. Burial will follow at St. Clement’s Cemetery.
