Marilyn J. Ertel

Marilyn J. Ertel, age 85 of Massillon, passed away Thursday, December 30, 2010 surrounded by her family. She was born on March 29, 1925 in Massillon, the daughter of the late Roy and Ester (Klingensmith) Hess. Marilyn lived in the area her entire life. She was a 1943 graduate of Washington High School. Marilyn was a member of First Church of the Nazarene in Canton and enjoyed playing bingo, traveling and spending time with her family. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband William H. Ertel in 1981. She is survived by her children and their spouses Bob (Connie) Ertel of Perry Heights and Phillip (Robin) Ertel of Canton; her grandchildren Melanie (Mark) Eller, Scott (Carey) Ertel and Thomas (Rhonda) Ertel and her great-grandchildren Jordyn, Alec, Taylor and Anna. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 3, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Paquelet and Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home in Massillon. Pastor Dan Hanson will be Officiating. Burial will follow at Sixteen St. John Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 2-4 P.M. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Monday.
