Marilyn Florence Winkler, 90, passed away on April 20, 2022, surrounded by loving family. Marilyn was born September 14, 1931, in Canton, Ohio to Isadore and Mary Weigand. She married Gust Winkler, Jr. in 1954, and together they enjoyed outdoors and camping. Their love of camping inspired them to open their own campgrounds, swimming lake, and farm – called Lake Joseph - which they operated for about two decades and where they raised their five children. Marilyn worked in accounting and ran the business of Lake Joseph. She loved to play cards and games, especially dominos with her close friends in Canal Fulton. She enjoyed gardening and crafts, and was skilled at refinishing furniture and antiques. Marilyn always welcomed family and her many friends into her home. After Gust retired, they spent years travelling throughout the U.S. in their campers, and visited Germany and England. They loved dogs, and there was always a furry friend in the family. Marilyn was preceded in death by her loving husband, Gust; sister Susie Betts (Herb); brother Richard Weigand (MaryLee), and parents Isadore and Mary Weigand. She is survived by her children including Mary Jo King (Jim Thorp); Janie Presutto (Larry Weyandt); Rosie Pollock; Lisa Groves; and Matthew Winkler (Monica); 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. The family would like to express sincere gratitude to Crossroads Hospice and the Inn at Belden Village for their compassionate care during the last months and weeks. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Saints Philip and James Catholic Church in Canal Fulton on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at 11a.m. The family will receive friends from 10a.m. until the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Crossroads Hospice. To leave messages of sympathy and support go to www.paquelet.com
