J. Marie Fisher age 101 and 21 days, passed away April 9th at Affinity Medical Center. Marie was born, March 19, 1911, on a farm outside Navarre to the late S.W.(Bill) and Sarah (Sally) Lutz and moved to Massillon in the 20's. She was the longest living sibling, having surpassed her sister Irene Williams, who passed on 3/9/2002 at the age of 101 and 13 days, her other sister Mae Skipper, who passed on 11/8/2002 at the age of 100. Her brothers Charles (Chuck) Lutz passed away in 1988 and Linden (Ben) Lutz was killed at Normandy on 6/17/1944. Marie married Roy Fisher on Dec 24, 1938 and was a homemaker who was the cornerstone of her family. Her husband, Roy, passed on 5/26/1964 and she has resided with her daughter Linda and son-in-law Daniel D Cottrill Sr. ever since. Marie was known for her pie baking, feeding her "critters" and she never met anyone who left hungry. Her longevity must be genetic in nature but also attests to the fact that she walked for a couple ofmiles daily until she was into her 80's. She took a cross county trip to Las Vegas in a pick up truck, with her daughter, when she was 87. She did not see a doctor until she was well into her 80's and then only for blood pressure medicine. The friends of both grandchildren always looked forward to seeing "Granny" and listening to her talk while sitting on "her" swing. Besides her daughter and son-in-¬law, she is survived by the joys of her life, her Grandson Daniel D Cottrill Jr and his fiance Julie Crouch and Granddaughter Shelley D Cottrill-Hudson, both of Massillon who have kept her "young" and active. She is also survived by a niece Nancy Bates and nephews Dick Lutz and Bill Williams and many friends. Missing her as well, are the family dogs Banchi and Chia Jr. She has seen history in the making in many great inventions during the years and was blessed with a wonderful memory and health, even enjoying this past Easter Sunday dinner with her family. We have been so very blessed by her presence in our lives. Per her wishes, a private family gathering service has been conducted and burial has taken place at Union Lawn Cemetery in Navarre, to be joined again with her husband. Memorial contributions may be made to the donors favorite charity. Messages of condolence and support may be sent to the family at www.arnoldlynch.com.
