Marian (Shaidnagle) Bannister age 93 of Massillon passed away Tuesday April 20, 2010. Marian was born October 29, 1916 to the late Walter E. & Ella (Wagoner) Shaidnagle in Massillon. A life resident of Massillon she was an executive chief. She and her husband of 43 years, Charles Bannister owned and operated the former Bannister’s Chicken House. When they closed their restaurant she then was a chief at the former Bali Hi Restaurant. Marian was an active member of St. Barbara Catholic Church, Ladies Guild, and Bible Study Group. Her personal time was reading, cooking, baking cookies and traveling. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Charles Bannister (1983), two sisters Kathryn McKaig & Carol Jane Wagoner and two brothers David Shaidnagle & Walter Shaidnagle. Marian is survived by a niece Marian Jane Wagoner with whom she made her home. While she had no children, Marian enjoyed her many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM Monday at St. Barbara Catholic Church, her pastor Fr. Thomas Cebula will officiate. Burial will be beside her husband at St. Joseph Cemetery.
