Marian F. Powell

Marian F. Powell, 72 of North Lawrence, passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2016. Marian was born on October 14, 1943 in Trafford, Alabama the daughter of the late Samuel and Emma (Hoagland) Huffstutler. She was a resident of the area most of her life and graduate of Northwest High School. Marian enjoyed crocheting, knitting, baking and spending time with her family. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Powell in 1997; infant brother, Stanley; and infant sister, Elaine. She is survived by her children, Tammy (Dean) Jackson, Tina (Charles) Rohr, Lana (Randall) Urwin, Dwayne (Cindy) Powell and Jeff (fiancée Lesha Ratliff) Powell; 16 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; brothers, W.L. (Pauline) Huffstutler, David (Sandy) Huffstutler and Hugh (Beth) Huffstutler; sisters, Brenda Glover, and Phyllis (Ricky) Myrick; and sister-in-law, Helena (Harold) Johnson. A Celebration of Marian's Life will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at 10 a.m. at the Paquelet & Arnold – Lynch Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Newman Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Anchor Baptist Church in Marian's name.
