Maria C. (Tassone) Young

Maria C. (Tassone) Young, age 77 of Akron, went to be with the Lord on August 22, 2016 with her family at her side. She was born on September 8, 1938 in San Nicola, Italy and was the daughter of the late Rocco and Virginia (Polomeni) Tassone. She enjoyed dancing, gardening, canning, cooking and sharing the food she grew and prepared. Most of all she loved her family. She was a warm, loving and compassionate woman that will be missed by all who knew her. Along with her parents, Maria was preceded in death by her son Mark Massucci, two brothers and three sisters. She is survived by her daughters, Virginia (Scott) Fier and Angela Massucci, her grandchildren, James, Carmen (Grant), Kayla (Zach), Courtney (Ryan), Carri and Jaymee, her great grandchildren, Jullian, Charlie and Emerson. Also surviving are her siblings, Nicolina, Carmen, Cosimo (Michelle), Damiano (April), Teresa (Larry) and Natalie. A service to celebrate Maria's life will take place at RiverTree (Jackson) Campus on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. with a reception to follow.
