Margie E. Earley

Margie E. Earley of Massillon, Ohio was born on April 27, 1941 in Summit Ooltewah, Tennessee to the late Joseph L. Stone and Mary Roberts. She departed this life on Monday, March 26, 2007 in Cleveland, Ohio at the Cleveland Clinic after an extended illness. Margie moved to Cleveland at the age of 12 and attended the Cleveland Public School System. In 1959 she was united in marriage with Ollie L. Scott at the age of eighteen and in 1966 to the late Bobby Campbell who passed away in 1975. She lived a number of years in Alliance, Ohio. Margie loved the outdoors and with her husband Joseph Earley, Sr. whom she married in 1988 enjoyed traveling together in their RV motor home, camping, fishing and golfing until her health started to fail. Also, she was an active member and participant of the church choirs at St. James A.M.E. Zion Church. Margie loved to sing. In addition to her parents Margie was preceded in death by brothers, Joseph, Wiley and Michael Gustus. Margie will be remembered and greatly missed by her loving husband, Joe, two sons, Richard (April) Scott, Oliver (Danielle) Scott, one daughter, Streisa (James) Campbell O’Neal, stepson, Joseph Earley, Jr., step-daughters, Lisa Heather (Corey) Novell and Jennifer (Skip) Patterson, brothers Emory and Wilbur Roberts, and Gene (Grace) Jackson, sisters, Loventa (Clarence) Price, Alice (Levaughn) Flanders, Sr. and Marilyn Elder and Wanda Gustus, all of Chattanooga Tennessee, 19 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A Homegoing Celebration will be held Saturday, March 31, at 10:00 A.M. at St. James AME Zion Church with Bishop Gerald Evans officiating. Friends may call Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. and an hour before the services on Saturday all at the church. The Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon is handling the arrangements.
