Margaret W. Medure

Margaret W. Medure, 89 of Canton, on Monday, January 13, 2014 was taken into the arms of her merciful Lord and Savior. She was born to the late Joseph J. and Mary Grace (Pascarella) Wilyat in Brewster, Ohio on January 29, 1924. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Dominic Medure and her siblings, Madeline, Ursula, James and Pat. Margaret's career spanned over 25 years in public service with Stark County Engineer's office and Canton Municipal Court bailiff under Judge Irene Smart. She was active in the Stark County Democratic Party and worked on many campaigns. After retirement she enjoyed gardening and watching the many birds that visited her yard. She was an avid football fan, her favorite college football team was Notre Dame University and she never missed watching a game. She loved being with family and friends and will be greatly missed and never forgotten She is survived by her children and their spouses, Sheila and Curtis Taylor, Anthony and Kay Medure and Susan and Lee Cantrell, daughter-in-law, Leeann Medure, her grandchildren, Nathan (Kelly), Laura, Randall (Dawn), Robert, Lisa, Ross, Braxton, Jared and Jenna, her great grandchildren, Aksana, Elle and Ava and her best friend and longtime companion Joseph Magasano. Funeral services will take place on Friday, January 17th at 1:00 P.M. at the Paquelet Funeral Home with Fr. Raymond L. Paul officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
