Manila C. Brakefield

Manila C. Brakefield, age 92 of Massillon, passed away at the home of her daughter, Pamela Miner on Monday, September 5, 2011. She was born on January 16, 1919 in Beckley, WV and was the daughter of the late John Henry & Dewey (Lilly) Crawford. Manila was a member of the White Shrine of Jerusalem. She enjoyed traveling, cooking and spending time with her family. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Millard Thompson and Billy R. Brakefield, her son Kenneth Thompson, 3 brothers and 1 sister. She is survived by her children, Daniel Brakefield, Pamela (Larry) Miner, Sharon (Vernon) Smith and Dale (Betty) Thompson, 13 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and her brother Howard Crawford. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday at 1:00 P.M. at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home with Rev. Edd Matako officiating. Burial will follow at Brookfield Cemetery.
