Mae Maxine (Young) Luker, 91 of Massillon, passed away on Friday, January 2, 2015. She was born on November 17, 1923 in Amesville, Ohio and was the daughter of the late Daniel Ernest and Dora Mae (Phillips) Young. Mae earned two degrees, a Bachelors of Education and a Bachelors of Art, from Malone College. She taught for several years and then became widely known in Stark County for her artistic works. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Massillon. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Luker, four brothers and one sister. Mae is survived by her son, Richard M. (Vicki) Luker, her daughter, Cathy J. (Edward) Stanton, her grandchildren, Matthew (Kim) Luker, Marc (Janel) Luker, Melissa (Andrew) Riederer Kristen Deem, Karen (Thom) Gilman, Kelly Ward, Amanda (Troy) Haidet and 13 great grandchildren. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, January 7th at 1:00 P.M. at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home with Pastor Julia Wertz officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Burial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12-1 P.M.
