Mae Helen Dockery

Mae Helen Dockery, 79 went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 14, 2013. John 13 V 14. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you unto Myself; That where I am, there ye may be also. She was born on April 23, 1934 in Alabama to the late Ocey and Mozell (Lowery) Williams. Mae was a graduate of Washington High School, Class of 1953 and the Massillon City Hospital Nursing Program and she worked at the Massillon State Hospital for twenty four years until her retirement in 1993. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. She served on the Deacon Board and was a member of the choir. Mae spent her life dedicated to her church and her family. Mae is survived by her husband, Nathaniel Dockery, whom she married on January 12, 1955, three sons, Nigel, Shawn and Vaughn Dockery all of Massillon, four grandchildren, Eboni (Kenneth) Chandler of Columbus, Maryssa Dockery of Canton, Darion McGuire of Massillon and Brooke Harrold of Canton, eleven great-grandchildren, Shantel, Trevon, Kingston, Kennedy, Khia, Malakye, Kye, Deiveon, Dajanae, Layla and O'Ryan, two brothers, Otis and Curtis Lowery both of Massillon, four sisters, Brenda Lowery of Dayton, Betty Lowery of Atlanta, GA, Evonne Lowery of Mexico and Linda Lowery of Chicago, Il and a host of Nieces, Nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Lynne Dockery, sister Thelma Peterson and a brother, Rudy Lowery. Friends may call at the Friendship Baptist Church on Saturday, May 18, 2013 from 11:00AM - 1:00PM, a funeral service will follow at 1:00PM in the Church, Pastor Reginald Hye, Officiating.
