M. C. Allen

M.C. Allen, age 85 of Massillon, passed away on June 17, 2022. He was born on April 10, 1937 in Troy, Alabama to the late J.C. Allen and Clara (Woods) Allen. He married Shirley Gillom on December 21, 1962 and they were married for 54 years until her passing in 2016. M.C. worked as a Truck Driver for Republic Steel for 40 years until his retirement. He later worked at Hertz Rental Car for 20 years. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and bowling. M.C. was a member of Local # 1124 Steel Workers Union and the Blue Knights Motorcycle Club. M.C. was known for sense of humor and strong work ethic. He and his brother J.W. were regulars spending a lot of time at McDonalds and Waffle House. He will forever be remembered as a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and a great friend. He is survived by his children Alane C. Allen, Alicia M. Allen, Mark C. Allen and Monte C. Allen; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; his brother J.W. (Paula) Allen and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. In addition to his parents and wife Shirley, M.C. was preceded in death by his daughter Alivia Jean Gillom; sisters, Clara “Rena” I. Jackson, Classie Dorsey-Roland and Beulah Richards. M.C.
