Luther W. “Luke” Luzader, age 87, of Wooster and formerly of Massillon passed away Tuesday May 4, 2010 at the Smithville Western Care Center surrounded by his loving family. Luke was born September 18, 1922 in Buckhanon, WV the son of the late David Wade and Vena R. (Beckner) Luzader. He had been employed by McLain’s Grocery, and more recently was a self-employed carpenter. Luke was an active member of the Wooster Baptist Temple. He was also a member of the Eagles Aerie # 190, and the AmVets Post # 12. He enjoyed making quilts and made many for his children and grandchildren. Luke is survived by his loving wife Georgia Combs-Luzader; daughters Pauline (Harold) Cameron of Navarre, Sandra Shilling of Massillon, and Sharon (Dennis) Riley of Orrville; son Keith Allen Luzader of Massillon; eleven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; step-children Delmas Combs of Tennessee, Pauline Nunemaker of Wooster, and Mona Sue Morris of Wooster. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Pauline A. (Czako) Luzader on December 23, 1992, his daughter Margaret Caldwell, and step-son Laville Combs. Friends may call Friday May 7th from 6-9 P.M. at Paquelet Funeral Home 1100 Wales Rd. NE, Massillon. Funeral services will be held Saturday May 8th at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Pastor Floyd Koenig will officiate. Interment will follow in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Memorial contributions in Luke’s memory may be given to the Wooster Baptist Temple, or the Wayne County Hospice.
