Lucille M. (Brozovic) Carbone Was on the highway to heaven for a short time after a bout with pancreatic cancer. She was born in Canton, Ohio May 20, 1929 of parents George and Margaret (Tansek) Brozovic (deceased). She and her husband spent 47 ½ years together raising a family and he preceded her in death May 10, 1997. Lucille retired from Ohio Bell Telephone Company in 1986 after 37 ½ years of service as a Group Chief Operator in Information Systems. Lucille had 2 passions; she was a professional volunteer and also the cookie lady. Her cakes, cookies,and nut rolls will be missed by many across the country. Some of her volunteer activities included 10 years of dedicated service working in the office for Saint Philip Neri Catholic Church, Red Cross Blood Bank, Funeral Food Ministry, Editorial Board for the Fort Mill Times, Pilgrim’s Inn, several years with United Way of Stark County, President of the M.S. Society, Pioneers of America with SBC, and Junior Achievement. For 20 years, Lucille volunteered as an AARP/IRS tax instructor for other tax aides and she also did taxes twice a week during the tax season for the elderly and low income. Lucille was a very special person in many people’s lives. Lucille lived in Canton, Ohio until 1995 when she relocated to Tega Cay, SC living with her daughter and son-in-law. Lucille is survived by son Joseph R. Carbone and his wife Connie of Massilon, Oh and daughter Joanne M. Eggert and her husband David of Tega Cay, SC. Lucille was blessed with being close to her 5 grandchildren: Joey, Vinnie, and Timmy Carbone; Lorraine Schneider and Eric Eggert. She also got to enjoy her three great-grandchildren; Dominic and Donavan Carbone and Julia Schneider. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday at 10:00 A.M. at St. Barbara's Catholic Church with Fr. Thomas Cebula officiating. Calling hours will be on Thursday from 6-8 P.M. at the Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Hospice and Community Care, 223 E. Main Street, Rock Hill, SC 29731 or Saint Philip Neri Building Fund.
