Lucas V. Marcelli, age 20, perished in a tragic plane accident on August 25th in Willoughby Hills, Ohio. Born July 28, 1994, Lucas spent most of his life in Jackson Township in Massillon, Ohio. He graduated in 2013 from Jackson High School and was a member of St. Mary's Parish in Massillon, Ohio. Lucas is survived by his parents, Bryan and Angela Marcelli, a twin sister Michaela, sister Marissa 17, brother Victor 15, grandmother Shirley Marcelli, Aunt Terry Dimos and Uncle Tom, Uncle Mike and Tammy Marcelli Uncle Steve Marcelli and his fiancee Weslee Heiser. In addition, Lucas had cousins Thalia Dimos, Alex, Rachel, Nicole, Luca, and Sara Marcelli. Lucas also had a girlfriend McKayla Linz going on 3 years. He will be sadly missed by all of his fraternity brothers, wrestling teammates and opponents and his numerous friends. Lucas was preceeded in death by his grandfather Donald F. Marcelli, who he loved dearly and is surely joined with in heaven right now. Lucas was a very driven person and was always looking to improve himself every minute of every day and made himself successful at everything he did. He was successful at academics and kept good grades, was a great athlete and had great relationships with people. He loved his family and his girlfriend. He had upstanding morals and values. He was an inspiration to all and took every opportunity to pay it forward to those he loved in academics and athetics. Lucas was a very accomplished wrestler having wrestled since the age of 3 at Manchester youth Jackson youth, Jackson High School, and Case Western Reserve University. He was a two time state 6th placer in 2012 and 2013. Moving on to Case Western University, he was most valuable wrestler and academic All-American as a freshman as well as rookie of the year. He was greco-roman and freestyle state champion through USA wrestling several times during his high school career. Lucas was a very social person who loved to fish, loved to spend time with family and friends and loved food. Calling hours will be held at Paquelet funeral home in Massillon Friday 3 to 7 and 9:45 am to 10:45 on Saturday with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11 a m at St. Mary's church on Cherry rd. in Massillon.
