Lowell R. Thompson II, 61, of Perry Township, passed away on Thursday, November 18, 2021. Lowell was born on August 25, 1960, in Canton, the son of Lowell R. and Martha E. (Robinson) Thompson. He was a Canton South graduate, and a United States Navy veteran. Lowell was a truck driver and retired from R&L Carriers after 40 years of service where he received the “1 Million Safe Driving Miles” award. He even drove with his wife for 9 of those years. Lowell attended Living Hope Christian Fellowship. He was preceded in death by his father Lowell Robert Thompson and his brother, Ronald Thompson. He is survived by his wife, Karen (Zortman) Thompson, with whom he married on December 31, 1994; daughter, Tara Gotshall; mother, Martha Santangelo; sister, Diane (Dave) Steinbach; brother, Mark (Laura) Thompson; grandchildren, Kaedin, Dylyn, Addacyn; nieces and nephews, Christopher, Kevin (Jenna), Tracy (Nathan), Melissa (Jimmy), Matt, Brittany (Matt); brother-in-law, Ken (Cindy) Zortman; and nephew, Ken Zortman, Jr. A Celebration of Lowell’s life will be held on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at 1:30 p.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home. Burial will be private at Sunset Hills Burial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. before the service.
