Louise McKenzie, age 81 of Massillon, crossed over on Sunday at Affinity Medical Center – Doctor’s Campus. She was born on February 13, 1926 in Elmore County, Alabama and was the daughter of the late Maud Griffin and Willie McKenzie. She was a Massillon resident for most of her life. She had been employed as a housekeeper at the Chase Motel and spent much of her life in the care giving field. She was currently attending Breath of Life Tabernacle in Perry Township and she was a previous member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepmother, Annie B. McKenzie, her daughter, Myrtle L. Brady, her brother Otis McKenzie and her sister Marguerite McKenzie and her great great granddaughter Kamarri M. Andrews. She leaves to cherish her memories a brother, Sherman McKenzie of Wetumpka, Alabama, her sisters, Shirley Hardaway of Sylacauga, Alabama and Jessie McKenzie of Atlanta, GA, her grandchildren, Pastor Barbara (Kevin) Andrews of Perry Township and Shanette Brady both of Canton, 3 great grandchildren, Latotcia (Jamaal) Hastings, Shalonda Andrews and Kevin Andrews II, one great great granddaughter, Saniya Andrews, one special niece, Janie McKenzie of Illinois, her former husband, James Wright of Columbus, OH and her longtime friend David Cargill of Massillon. A Home Going Celebration will take place on Thursday at 11:00 AM at the Paquelet Funeral Home with her Pastors Kevin and Barbara Andrews officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
