Louis W. Rider

Louis W. Rider, age 80, passed away January 11, 2006 at Meadow Wind Health Care Center . He was born October 1, 1925 to Louis and Amanda (Heckathorn) Rider. He was a graduate of Washington High School and served in the Navy during World War II. He retired as a transport driver with Nickles Bakery after more than 30 years of service and then as a school bus driver for the Jackson School System. He was a Past Master of the Perry Grange and a member of the Masonic Lodge. He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Massillon and, along with his wife Charlotte, served many years as organizer of the Palm Sunday Dinners. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Charlotte L. Rider with whom he celebrated 51 years of marriage, his parents, two sisters, Elizabeth Hartman of Akron and Lois Mohacsek of Massillon. He is survived by his three daughters, Mrs. Carole Huston, Rebecca (Mrs. Glenn) Witsaman and Roberta (Mrs Rudy) Turkal, sister, Mrs. Dale (Norma Jean) Indorf; two grandsons and three great granddaughters. Funeral services will Saturday at 2:00 P.M. at the First United Methodist Church Massillon. Friends may call Saturday from 12:00 to 2:00 P.M. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist, 301 Lincoln Way East, Massillon, Ohio 44646.
