Louis Busto, age 65, of Navarre passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2007 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on April 12, 1942 in Glendale, West Virginia to the late Louis V. & Celia (Rodriquez) Busto. Lou graduated from Donora High School in Pennsylvania. After high school Lou served in the Navy aboard USS Essex. He was a volunteer fire fighter in West Virginia & in Plain Twp.. He was also among the first Stark Co. class of certified EMT’s. Lou retired from Hoover in 1974, & became a part-time Jackson Twp. Police Officer. Lou served as the President of the Jackson Twp. Midget Football League. He was a charter member of the Louisville VFW. Lou was also a volunteer for the Stark Co. MRDD Special Olympics & the Affinity Hospital Massillon Campus & was also the Director of Volunteer Services at the Glenbeigh/Longford Chemical Dependency unit. Lou was an active member of the fellowship of Alcoholics Anonymous since 1989. He was appointed by the state of Ohio & served 2 terms on the Stark Co. Alcohol & Drug Services Board. He most recently volunteered at TASC & was appointed to the TASC board of directors. Lou was always willing to share his experience strength & hope with others to encourage them to find the sobriety & serenity he enjoyed so much. He was an enthusiastic & life long Steelers fan. Lou was well known for his sense of humor, story telling & ready jokes. He is preceded in death by his parents. Survived by Wife Martha (Thompson) Busto his wife of 42 yrs. 2 sons Mike Busto of Navarre Mark Busto & girlfriend Kelli Ooten of Perry Twp. 1 sister Norma & Jack Hall of Tennessee Brother-in-law Jim & Sally Thompson of New Jersey Aunts, Uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins & friends. The family would like to give a special thank you to everyone at the Stark Co. VNS Hospice for their help for the past month. A funeral service will take place on Saturday at 11 A.M. at the Paquelet Funeral Home. Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. on Friday & one hour before the service at the funeral home.
