Lorraine S. Wertz

Lorraine S. Wertz passed away Friday, January 31, 2014 at Affinity Medical Center after a two month illness. She was born on October 10, 1927 in Evanston, IL to the late Arthur and Lena (Watson) Nehrlich. She married Robert "Bob" Wertz on March 1, 1947. He preceded her in death in 2005. She retired from Ekco Housewares after 25 years. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Gary J. Rohr, her sister, Betty Hitt and her infant brother William Nehrlich. She is survived by her daughters, Pam Rohr of Massillon and Bobbie (Ken) Krotky of Dalton, a sister Lois Soderquist of Hammond, IN and a brother-in-law, George Hitt of Evanston, IL. Also surviving are her niece, three nephews and her loving little Yorkie, Megan. Lorraine enjoyed shopping, going to lunch and her monthly Bunco Club. The family wishes to thank her very special friends, Shauna Treisch and Patti Paul for their devoted care and concern and to all of the doctors and nurses of the Affinity Intensive Care Unit. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday at 1:00 P.M. at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home with Rev. Edd Matako officiating. Burial will follow at Dalton Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12:00 – 1:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the North Lawrence Volunteer Fire Department or the charity of your choice.
