Loretta Turner Russell

Loretta Turner Russell, age 74 of Massillon passed away February 21, 2012. Loretta was born November 23, 1937 in Massillon to the late Edward & Wilma (Robinson) Grier. She was a 1956 graduate of Washington High School and had been employed at the Massillon State Hospital. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two husbands, Samuel Turner and Joseph Russell; a brother Raymond, a son Johnnie Michael and a stepson Larry. Loretta loved the Lord. She was loving and caring; truly dedicated to her family. With her being an eye donor passing two people have been blessed with sight. What a giver! She enjoyed reading, storytelling to the younger children, singing nursery rhymes with the children and her favorite songs. She is survived by four children and their spouses: Anna (Charles) Perry, Paul (Brenadette) Turner, Darlene (Clark) Bryant and Darreyl Turner; a brother Edward (Judy) Grier, sister in law Eva Armstead; brother in law, Robert (Cathy) Russell; grandchildren, Kendalin (Charles) Turner, Lenix I, Shanna (Adam) Stewart, Montale (Marshae) Watkins, Markees (Fiancees Turner, Jonathan Perry, Michael Freeman, Paige Turner, alson step grandchildren. Great Grandchildren; Shawntia White, Shawna Turner, Charles Lenix II, Mawshon Watkins, Kyra Watkins, Arreya Watkins, D'Angelo Lenix, Seleah Watkins; great great grandchildren, Kendrick Turner, Kavion Turner, Kyndell Stewart, a longtime fiend Mozell Dixon and a host of nieces; a special niece Karen Grier and nephews. Her Home Going Celebration will be Tuesday at 1 PM at St. James AME Zion Church, her pastor Rev. Robert W. Lewis Sr. will officiate.
