Loomis Addison Shuck, Jr., 84, of Massillon, passed away on August 9, 2022. He was born on September 20, 1937, in Danese, West Virginia to the late Loomis A. and Helen (Connley) Shuck, Sr. Loomis began working as a coal miner before moving to Ohio where he held several jobs throughout his life but retired from B & W as a welder which was a self-taught skill that he perfected over the years. He was also a 50-year member of Clinton Lodge #47 F&A.M. and the ANCIENT ACCEPTED SCOTTISH RITE VALLEY OF CANTON. His favorite hobbies included hunting and his love for motorcycles. Loomis will be deeply missed by his daughters Virginia Mason, Sandra (Steve Sago) Warner and Helen (Dean) Barnes; 8 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Loomis was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 45 years, Betty (Plumley) Shuck, daughter Barbara Schuster, son Larry A. Shuck, Sr., granddaughter Amanda Mason, grandson Bryon Shuck, son-in-law, Harry “Jim” Mason, as well as 4 sisters. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 20th at 1 p.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. A masonic service will begin promptly at 12:45 pm at the funeral home.
