Lonnie D. Harper

November 21, 1971 — September 2, 2009

Lonnie D. Harper, age 37, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 2, 2009. He was employed at Tekfor, Inc. Lonnie was a Massillon Little League football coach and was a lifetime member of the Boys and Girls Club of Massillon. He had a real passion for sports, especially basketball. He was a 1991 graduate of Washington High School. He was preceded in death by his father Lonnie Brown, Grandparents Mary and Frank Jordan, Grandfather Lonnie Brown, Sr. and grandparents, James and Marie Lester. He is survived by his mother Dorothy Mae Harper of Massillon, his brothers, Anthony (Patricia) Brown, Malcolm Brown and Richard Brown all of Madison, Wisconsin, Terence Brown of Canton, sisters Sandra (Anthony) Barry of Columbus, OH, Cheryl McNeil and Regina Brown both of Washington, D.C., Valerie Brown of Canton, Yolanda Brown of Wintersville, OH, Bonita and Carla Harper of Canton, Karen (Mitchell) King of Massillon, Ninetta and Jacqualia Harper of Phoeniz, AZ. Also surviving are his special nephew Cadiz Harper of the home, sons sons Taelonn and Avalonn Harper and Lonnie Harper IV. Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Canton. Visitation will take place on Tuesday at the Paquelet Funeral Home, 1100 Wales Road NE, Massillon from 6-9 P.M.
