Lois M. Wengerd

Lois M. Wengerd, age 81 of North Lawrence, died on Sunday, March 22, 2009 at Affinity Medical Center in Massillon following an extended illness. She was born on April 6, 1927 in Massillon and was the daughter of the late Roy and Mary (Bertels) Baer. She was a lifelong North Lawrence resident. Lois retired from Rose Lane Health Care Center. She enjoyed being with her family, gardening, traveling, watching the Cleveland Indians and her Pomeranians. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alva Wengerd, Jr., her grandson David Wengerd and her son in law, Larry “Gordie” Easterday. She is survived by her daughters, Linda K. Easterday of Massillon with whom she recently lived with and Sherri Dancy of Massillon, her son and daughter in law, Terry L. and Chrissy Wengerd of Amherst, Ohio, her grandchildren, Wendy (Kenny) Stevens, who was her caregiver, Lori Easterday, Barry Borton, Jr., Ryan Wengerd, Nichole Murr and Alexis Bordy and her great grandchildren, Samantha, Shane, Ean and Natalie. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday at 1:00 P.M. at the Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home with Rev. Edd Matako officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery.
