Lloyd J. Carver, age 85 of Massillon, died Tuesday, August 9, 2005 at Massillon Community Hospital. He was born on March 20, 1920 in Beaver Falls, PA and was the son of the late Raymond and Hazel (Freed) Carver. He was a lifelong area resident. Lloyd was a member of the Epworth United Methodist Church and was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. He owned and operated the Kendall Barber Shop and Kendall Hair Goods. He was a life member of the American Legion Post 221 for 62 years, a member of the B.P.O.E. # 441 and the Clinton Lodge #47. Along with his parents, Lloyd was preceded in death by his wife Jewel “Tiny” Carver on October 4, 2000 and his sister Margaret Hershey recently. He is survived by his son and daughter in law, Paul L. & Betsy Carver of North Myrtle Beach, SC, grandchildren, Brian Carver of Canton, Marc Carver of Philadelphia, PA and Todd Carver of Denver, CO and his sister Shirley Smail of North Lawrence, OH. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, August 12, 2005 at 1:00 P.M. at the Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home with Rev. Lee Peters officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday one hour before the service. The Clinton Lodge will hold services at 11:30 A.M.
