Linda L. Calhoun

Linda L. Calhoun, 78, of Massillon, went home to be with the Lord on January 10, 2021. She was born on May 24, 1942 in Canton to Freeman and Hazel “Jean” (Rupe) Searles. She graduated from Washington High School, Class of 1961. Linda was a member of Massillon Baptist Temple and later Anchor Baptist Church. She loved to spend time with her family. Linda is survived by her high school sweet heart ”puppy” and husband of 59 years, R. Wayne Calhoun; their daughters, Tammie (Robbi) Boord, Sandra Dee Ertle and Vickie Calhoun; grandchildren, Michael, Jonathan, and Aaron Darr, Bridget (Bryon) Tan, Brooke (Sonny) Boswell, Lynn Ertle and Brandon Davis; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Jackie Heyman and Peggy (Roy) Junn; brother-in-law, Kenneth Calhoun; and her canine companion, Missy, who brought her such joy. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her infant brother, Freeman Searles, Jr; and two sisters, Patsy (Verl) Snyder and Dorothy (Bill) McCune. Friends may call at the Paquelet Funeral Home, Massillon on Thursday, January 14, 2021 from 6pm-8pm and from one hour prior to the time of the funeral service at 11am in the funeral home on Friday, January 15, 2021. Pastor Shane Rice, officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Continuing with COVID-19 precautions, all attending will be asked to follow proper social distancing protocol and masks are required.
