Lily Mae Croston passed away unexpectedly on February 23, 2024. Lily was born in Canton, Ohio to Josh and Missy (Covington) Croston on May 31, 2013. From the moment Lily was born, she brought joy and happiness to those around her. Her life was a testament to the power of love and resilience. Having overcome many challenges since her birth, Lily was nothing short of a miracle.
Lily was happiest when surrounded by her family and friends. She truly was a daddy’s girl. She loved cuddling; especially daddy whenever he would wear her favorite Cleveland Browns fleece shirt. Lily enjoyed spending time with her younger brother Jay. He always knew how to make her laugh, and she really loved when he would take her for rides around the house in his power wheels. Jay was the absolute best brother in the whole world. Lily gave the best hugs, and she would frequently climb into her mom’s lap to snuggle. Lily’s dogs, Winston and Henry, were two of her best friends. She enjoyed laying on them and showing her affection by giving them little pinches. Lily adored Mickey Mouse and Daniel Tiger, and was especially happy watching her favorite shows on her tablet. Lily’s favorite place to go was to either of her grandma and grandpa’s houses. Lily loved attending school at Watson Elementary. She was particularly fond of her teacher, Mrs. Frantz, and all of her friends, therapy staff, nurses and support staff. Even though Lily was nonverbal, she looked forward to the time she got to spend in speech therapy learning how to use her communication device with her favorite Speech Language Pathologist Miss Jessica (Norris). Lily participated in Help Me Grow, and she was an ambassador for the Stark County Board of Developmental Disabilities. Anyone who knew Lily, knew that she strongly disliked the word goodbye. So instead of saying goodbye, we will say until we meet again. The family finds peace knowing that Heaven is a little brighter now that Lily is there to turn the lights on.
Left to cherish her memory, are Lily’s parents Josh and Missy Croston, her little brother Jay Croston; great-grandmother June Hoffman; grandparents Robert and Kathy Croston and Tom and Lisa Covington; aunts and uncles, Alyson Croston, Joe and Diane Croston, and Mike and Danielle Covington; and cousins, Cici and Wesley Croston and Rylan, Laynie and Ellie Covington; along with a host of many other family and friends.
Lily was preceded in death by her great-grandmother, Norma Jean Pavelzik.
The family will receive friends from 4:00pm to 6:00pm on March 4, 2024 at Paquelet Funeral Home. A memorial service will begin at 6:00pm officiated by Pastor Craig Ott.
