Lillian Johnson, age 97 of Massillon passed away Thursday December 23, 2010 at Affinity Medical Center. Mrs. Johnson was born September 1, 1913 in Woodland, AL to the late Troy & Ada (Lancaster) Joiner and lived in Massillon most of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of St. James AME Zion Church. She was known for her hospitality and Christian Values. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Johnnie Johnson (1987); two sisters, Eunice Fouse and Pearl Gillom and a brother David ‘Buster’ Joiner. She is survived by seven children: Joanne (Leroy) White, Vernon (Geri) Johnson, John Henry (Sharon) Johnson, Shirley (Richard) Crenshaw, Tyrone Johnson, William (Yolanda Rae) Johnson, and Evelyn Brown; there is a sister Eulette (Chat) Arrington and a brother Henry (Lucille) Joiner. There are numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. And a host of addition relatives, and friends. A Homegoing for Lillian Johnson will be at Noon Thursday December 30, 2010 at St. James AME Zion Church, her pastor Rev. Robert Lewis will officiate. Burial will be at Massillon Cemetery.
