Lewis ‘Uncle Lou’ Crenshaw at the age of 65 passed away on Friday, November 2, 2007, at Doctors Affinity Hospital after an extended illness. Lewis was born December 8, 1941 in Massillon to James & Emily (Stewart) Crenshaw. He attended Massillon Schools and retired from the Massillon City Street Dept. after 33 years of service. Lewis was known for his generosity in helping all of those in need. He was preceded in death by his father, James Crenshaw and two brothers, Leonard Ray and Eddie Crenshaw. He leaves to mourn his passing his mother, Emily Crenshaw; three brothers, Richard (Shirley) Crenshaw, Stanley Crenshaw of Massillon & Henry Crenshaw of Canton; three sisters, Barbara Marsh, Sherry Jackson and Rhonda (Sylvester) Morgan all of Massillon; 2 special friends in Sara Garrison and Carol Traylor of Massillon and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Calling hours will be Wednesday, November 7, from 6-8 PM at St. James AME Church. The Revs. Robert & Beverly Lewis will officiate at the 11 AM funeral service on Thursday at the church. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Friends will be received at 20 Groose Avenue N.W., Massillon, Ohio. In lieu of flowers make contributions to the Crenshaw Family.
