Leslie Myron Garvin, age 96 of Massillon, passed away on Friday, April 4, 2014 at Alter Care of Nobles Pond following a short illness. He was born on October 16, 1917 in Cadiz, OH and was the son of the late Archie Hayes and Anna (Singhaus) Garvin. After graduation from high school, Leslie served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He served stints in Australia, New Guinea, the Philippines and the Dutch East Indies. He was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church. He was an avid bowler and a member of the Massillon Saddle Club. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Marie Garvin in 1990, 5 brothers and 7 sisters. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Leslie Nussbaum, his grandchildren, Stephanie (John) Beltz and Christopher (Emily) Nussbaum, his great grandchildren, Hollie Beltz, William Beltz, Hannah Nussbaum and Hayden Nussbaum. A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Garvin will take place on Wednesday at 1:00 P.M. at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home with Rev. Cliff Price officiating. Burial will follow at Brookfield Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6-8 P.M. and on Wednesday one hour before the service.
