Leonard A. Badertscher, 77, of Perry Township, passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2024. Leonard was born in Wooster, Ohio on June 13, 1946 the son of the late Lester and Thelma (Leaman) Badertscher.
Leonard was a lifelong resident of the area and graduated from Jackson High School. He was a United States Navy veteran and served our country during Vietnam. Leonard retired from the Timken Company after 38 years of service. He also volunteered as a fireman for Perry Township Fire Department. Leonard was an active member of the American Legion Post #221 where he served as Past Commander and proud member of the Honor Guard. He loved watching his grandchildren play sports. In his spare time he enjoyed bird watching, and classic cars. He was a member of First Baptist Church - Massillon where he served as an usher. Family was most important to him.
He is survived by his wife, Connie Badertscher with whom he shared 52 years of marriage; children, Sharon (Ron) Conley, and Len (Amy) Badertscher; grandchildren, Darek Conley, Samantha Conley, and Brennen Badertscher, Liam Badertscher, and Kaiden Badertscher; sisters, Leslie Lint, Mary Reese, and Betty (Jon) Wojtowicz.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his, grandchild, Patrick Conley, sister, Sharon Badertscher, and sister Barbara Thorpe.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 from 10 am - 12 p.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home with the memorial service following at 12 p.m. Dr. Roger Alber will be Officiating. Inurnment with Military Honors will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Messages of comfort and support may be sent to the family at www.paquelet.com.
