Leon H. Rolland

Leon H. Rolland, age 65 of Massillon, went home to be with the Lord on November 13, 2020. He was born in Massillon on June 17, 1955 to Leroy Rolland Sr. and the late Mary Rolland. He was a 1974 graduate of Washington High School. He played on the football team and was #86. He remained a diehard Massillon Tigers fan his whole life. Leon worked as a welder at Republic Steel until his retirement. He enjoyed socializing with friends and talking sports especially when it came to the Cleveland Browns and Cavaliers. He enjoyed fishing, bowling and was a member of The Fraternal Order of the Eagles – Aerie #190. He is survived by his son, Torriondo (Markita) Oliver; daughter Deanna (Brooks) Nichols; his father Leroy Rolland Sr.; brother Leroy Rolland Jr.; sister Dorette Johnson; 9 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild and a host of friends. In addition to his mother, Leon was preceded in death by his sister Debbie Anderson. A Homegoing Celebration will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2020 at 12 noon at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon and will be streamed live through the funeral home website. Cremation will take place following the service and a private family burial at Oakwood Cemetery will take place at a later date. Continuing with COVID-19 precautions, all attending will be asked to follow proper social distancing protocol and masks are required. If you are not feeling well, or if you have compromised immune system, you are encouraged to stay home.
