Lena Virginia Okey

Lena Virginia Okey, age 100, passed away at Mercy Medical Center on December 2, 2014. She was born on January 26, 1914 in Clarington, Ohio to Charles and Victoria Boetticher. She graduated from Salem High School in Clarington, Ohio and Raedel Secretarial College. The majority of her career was spent as secretary of Canton Lincoln High School. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, John R. Pfalzgraf and John W. Okey, daughter Carole Kay Okey, step-daughter Donna Schmidt, sisters Olive Rose, Wanda Pinkerman, Eunice Capper and brother Garrett Boetticher. She is survived by her daughter Sandra Cheyney of Massillon, stepdaughter Elaine (Harold) Keith of Canton, stepsons Robert Okey of Canton and Donald (Doris) Okey of Tennessee. Her grandchildren, Chris (Glenn) Boyd of Canal Fulton, Kathy (Bill) Graening of Jackson Twp, Diane Sandy of Akron, Robert M. Okey of Akron, David (Michelle) Okey of Hartville and J, Brian Okey of Canton, David Keith of North Canton, Rick (Jeannie) Schmidt of Jackson Twp., John (Sue) Schmidt of Jackson Twp., Bob (Karen) Schmidt of Pennsylvania, Jeanne (Aaron) Gressel of Canton, Carol Fox of Delaware, Kathy (Bill) Porter of Canton, Barb Feliciano of Texas, Kim Tietz of Tennessee, Carolyn (Doug) Carlson of Wisconsin and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Lena was a living example, a role model, the epitome of a good mother and wife, a good daughter and sister, a good friend and woman, always putting others before herself. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. She was a long time member of the Eleventh Street Church of God. The family will receive friends at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home on Friday, December 5th from 6-8 P.M. and from 10- 11 A.M. on Saturday, December 6th. The Memorial Service will take place on Saturday at 11:00 A.M. Rev. Randy Shafer will officiate. Burial will be on Monday, December 8th at 11:30 A.M. at Clarington Cemetery in Clarington, Ohio.
